The mission of  Save Hialeah Park’s is the
historic preservation of Hialeah Park Race Track.

What are we saving?  The Park was once the most beautiful race track
in the world, it marks the beginnings of the city of Hialeah and its founders,
features a unique central park area, and is a symbolic resting place for the
horses that raced there and the millions of people who once cheered from
the clubhouse and grandstand. Hialeah Park is the city’s most evident and
only historical link with the rest of the nation. It deserves nothing less than
to be completely restored and preserved.

lease by failing to offer live racing, not holding a pari-mutuel license and
falling behind in his payments to the city. Minor thinks the city of Hialeah
should enforce an eminent domain claim on the land. If not, he said he has
a team of lawyers ready to strike.

Letters Critical of MEC's Economic State
Late last month, Brunetti rejected Minor's first offer for Hialeah Park, which
last held races in 2001. Neither would disclose the price Minor offered or
the price Brunetti is requesting. But Brunetti said on Oct. 1 that Minor's
offer was "in the same range" as the $22 million purchase price when he
